Kronika zamkowa 1(67)/2014

Czasopismo jest kroniką działalności naukowej, wystawienniczej i edukacyjnej Zamku Królewskiego w Warszawie. Zamieszczone w każdym numerze artykuły informują także o postępie prac konserwatorskich, rekonstrukcjach, wykopaliskach, o aktualnych darach i nabytkach oraz spotkaniach i imprezach o charakterze naukowym, kulturalnym i artystycznym.

Po raz drugi w swojej historii „Kronika Zamkowa” zmienia szatę graficzną. Wydany w 1994 r. poczwórny numer 1-2 (25-26) 1992 i 1-2 (27-28) 1993 zastąpił skromną broszurę, która od 1983 r. z kronikarską rzetelnością relacjonowała najważniejsze wydarzenia i prace prowadzone w Zamku warszawskim. W nowej „Kronice”, zdecydowanie bardziej atrakcyjnej pod względem edytorskim, zaczęto publikować także obszerniejsze artykuły naukowe, które w miarę upływu czasu i gromadzenia doświadczeń badawczych przez pracowników Zamku rozrastały się, zajmując w niej coraz bardziej znaczące miejsce. „Kronice” nadal jednak przyświecał nadrzędny cel, zadeklarowany we wprowadzeniu do pierwszego numeru nowej serii: „aby nic co z Zamkiem związane nie pozostało zapomniane”.

To ważne zadanie nowa „Kronika” zamierza pełnić nadal, ale różnić się będzie od dawnej nie tylko formatem i szatą graficzną, m.in. jednokolumnowym układem strony z przypisami u dołu, dodanym podtytułem - „Roczniki” - oraz nową numeracją. Bardzo istotną zmianą jest wprowadzenie jej zespołowego kierownictwa naukowego powierzonego Radzie Redakcyjnej, która ma zapewnić pismu wysoki poziom merytoryczny i szerokie horyzonty poruszanej problematyki. W nowej formule „Kroniki” będą się zatem mieścić obszerne rozprawy poświęcone strukturze i funkcjonowaniu dworu, zarówno w życiu codziennym, jak i w zrytualizowanych ramach odświętnego ceremoniału - ważnych wydarzeń politycznych i uroczystości religijnych. Publikowane też będą prace na temat oprawy przestrzennej właściwej dla działań dworu - a więc z zakresu architektury, wyposażenia rezydencji, o kolekcjach i kolekcjonerstwie, wreszcie - o dworskich zamówieniach artystycznych, stanowiących niezbędne dopełnienie manifestacji władzy w jej sferze publicznej.

The journal is a chronicle of scientific, exhibitional and educational activity of the Royal Castle in Warsaw. The articles included in each volume inform of restoration work's progress, reconstructions, excavations, newest donations and acquisitions, as well as meetings and events of the scientific, cultural and artistic nature.

For the second time in its history, the "Castle Chronicle" is changing its layout. The quadruple issue 1-2 (25-26) 1992 and 1-2 (27-28) 1993, published in 1994, replaced the modest pamphlet which, since 1983, had reported with chronicle-like reliability on the most important events and work carried out at the Warsaw Castle. The new "Chronicle," decidedly more attractive from an editorial angle, also began to publish more extensive scholarly articles, which, as time passed and Castle staff gathered research experience, grew to occupy a more prominent place in the Chronicle. "The Chronicle," however, continued to be guided by the overarching goal declared in the introduction of the 1st issue of the new series: "so that nothing connected with the Castle becomes forgotten."

The new "Chronicle" intends to continue fulfiling this very task, but it will differ from the old one not only in format and graphic design, which includes a single-column page layout with footnotes at the bottom, an added subheading - "annals" - and new numbering. A very important change is the introduction of scientific management entrusted to the Editorial Board, which is to ensure the high substantive level of the journal and the broad horizons of the issues covered. The new formula of the "Chronicle" will therefore include extensive treatises on the structure and functioning of the court, both in everyday life and within the ritualised framework of festive ceremonial - important political events and religious celebrations. Papers will also be published on the spatial setting inherent in the activities of the court - that is, on architecture, the furnishings of the residences, on collections and collectibles, and finally on the court's artistic commissions, a necessary complement to the manifestation of power in its public sphere.
