The Orders of St. John and their ties with Polish territories

The rough history of the Maltese, their dealings with Poland from the Middle Ages to the present, artistic heritage, the Heritage Malta collection and many other issues connected with the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem - the inclusion of all these topic in one book proved an immense challenge. The realisation of this task was entusted to the greatest specialists: 12 authors elaborated on 10 topics, with each author representing a different specialisation in the historical field, a different attitude to research and narration technique. The result is an extremely valuable book with no others like it hitherto written on this topic.

The text is supplied with almost 250 illustrations with exhaustive comments.

The book received the Klio Award 2015 in the editing category and 2nd place in the category for the most interesting museum publisher in the Wierzba 2015 contest.

 Ujęcie w jednej publikacji burzliwej historii maltańczyków, ich związków z Polską od średniowiecza po współczesność, spuścizny artystycznej, zbiorów Heritage Malta oraz wielu innych zagadnień związanych z zakonem św. Jana Jerozolimskiego stanowiło ogromne wyzwanie. Realizację tego zadania „powierzono najwybitniejszym specjalistom: 10 tematów zostało opracowanych przez dwunastu autorów, reprezentujących różne specjalności historycznego rzemiosła, różne temperamenty badawcze i sposoby prowadzenia narracji". Powstała książka niezwykle wartościowa, niemająca odpowiednika w dotychczasowej literaturze przedmiotu. 

Tekst uzupełnia niemal 250 ilustracji opatrzonych obszernymi komentarzami.

Książka otrzymała Nagrodę Klio 2015 w kategorii edytorskiej oraz II nagrodę w kategorii najciekawsze wydawnictwo muzealne w konkursie Wierzba 2015.
